Care & Access Statement
Community Care
Access needs do not need to be held in shame -- we all have various capacities which function differently in various environments. Access needs can be articulated within a community and met privately or through a collective, depending upon an individual’s needs, desires, and the capacity of the group. We can share responsibility for our access needs without shame, we can ask our needs be met without compromising our integrity, we can balance autonomy while being in community, we can be unafraid of our vulnerabilities knowing our strengths are respected.

Grounding Us in Care & Access
We offer this grounding in the spirit of care and love. As you listen, read, and write today, observe your space and check in with your bodymindspirit. What might you need to bring with you on this care journey? Where do you need to position your body today? Do you need to lie down, or sit in a chair? Do you need to play with a fidget toy, color, knit, or stim while you listen? Do you need to eat or drink water? Do you need your camera on or off? Do you need to close your eyes?
We invite you to explore and express your bodymindspirit’s needs tenderly as they arise while we are gathered together in this communal virtual space.
